  • Nordic Track Warranty

Horrible Service. Horrible. Our new treadmill sat broken for several months, after 1 month of usage. Nordic Track sent us several different replacement parts, without instructions, and we couldn't figure out how to fix it properly. A technician was sent out to fix it for us, via our warranty service with UTS. The technician was rude, in a hurry and uninformative. He was unable to fix our machine and left saying that he would return in 3-4 days with a different part. A month later, he still did not return, after many phone calls and e-mails to try to get the situation resolved.... More...

I just wanted to say UTS has been amazing. I purchased an elliptical in 2008. We called UTS because the resistance was no longer performing properly. They sent over a repair technician who could not repair the issue. UTS called us back with the news that our machine was not repairable but because of our warranty we could pick any machine of equal value (or greater and pay the difference) and they would ship it to us. Just like that! We received the new machine and my spouse felt he could put it together himself. The console failed to work so we called UTS again, they shipped us out a new... More...

Our treadmill has been broken for 2 months now and I have called UTS several times. They have sent a few parts and have told me that a service tech should be getting a hold of me in a few days but here we are a month + later and no one has called me. I have called UTS several times and they will not help me. I think I am going to take this issue to the Better Business Bureau if I cannot get this resolved with in the next coupld of day. I am very sorry that I even purchased this exteneded warranty. More...

We have had our NordicTrack treadmill for almost 3 years now. The first year we were under the NordicTrack warranty and had no problems getting the issues we had with the treadmill fixed. We made the biggest mistake of our lives when we bought this extended warranty with UTS. Our treadmill has been broke for 2 months now and I have called UTS SEVERAL times to get parts ordered and have a service tech come and fix it. I have been told 3 times by the rep on the phone at UTS that a service tech will be contacting me in a few days to come and repair the treadmill but NO ONE has called yet and... More...

I have my parts delivered to my residence and just like the other comments complained about UTS - the company failed to deliver what they promise --> Customer Service. I called Nordic Track 1 day before my limited warranty will expire for my yearly maintenance. The agent last 12/9/2010 sent the parts - lubricants and a belt. He then said a technician from UTS will call me to set up an appointment but today is 12/27/2010 and no tech called yet. This is not acceptable. More...

Well I can see why I am having the problems with UTS that I am having. This company should not be allowed to stay in business; as I read through all of the other complaints it is apparent to me that UTS have had very poor customer service and measured results for some time. I doubt if they intend to correct the problem if we as customers continue to buy contracts through them. I suggest to everyone that has complained about this company call your local Better Business Bureau, or if you have a local news channel that will investigate reap off companies then you should contact them. If we... More...

I was advised by Tayor with operator #14 statin that there was nothing that was able to be done with this machine due to the fact that we are now in the extended warranty due to having to wait for months for the parts under the regular warranty and that there are NO supervisors, NO CEO line, NO nothing to be able to assist with our problems. I feel outraged to beleive that a business in which I pay to service my merchandise is able to run a business this way. As to that note, I will make sure from here on out I will NEVER purchase extended warranties that are backed by this COMPANY!! More...

  • Never buy UTS again, don't waste your money and time

I wonder why UTS is still in business. The customer service is horrible, they yell at you if you not 'polite' to them. IT takes 3 weeks for the part arrives. Then you have to contact the local technician for service, here is your nightmare begins. You keeps calling and calling, they don't even answer the phone and the messages you leaves. Finally, the technician answered you and told you that UTS have not sent work-order to him, then you have to wait for another 3 weeks. total waiting time for repair service is about 2 months and buy that time, you might gain a lot... I bought this treadmill from Sears, thinking Nordic Track treadmill should be a good treadmill. Boy was I wrong. It has been one problem after another. I will never buy another fitness machine with the name Nordic Track on it or uses UTS for their warranty services. Not only has it been a piece of junk...but the service stinks too. It takes way too long to get it repaired everytime something goes wrong with it. I hate to have to call...everytime I call I have to wait at least 30 minutes to talk with somebody. NEVER AGAIN WILL I BUY A NORDIC TRACK PEICE OF EQUIPMENT More...

  • Very, VERY poor service

I have had my Nordic Track Treadmill for 15 months, and I have had to call for service at least 5 times. Every single time I call UTS, I am on hold for a minimum of 20 minutes. Usually it is 30. People answering the phone in general do not have a clue as to what the problem is that I am describing, and this has resulted in them ordering the incorrect parts. Currently,I am waiting for three parts: 1 I don't even need (they ordered the wrong part because they paid no attention to the problem description) - which is out of stock. One I do need - this is out of stock. One I need... More...

  • UTS Bad Service

Summary: Huge delay in getting service (have not yet received), rude customer service. They take you money for the warranty but don't want to follow through on providing the service. Rating should not be "Please Improve" because I feel no need to be civil with this company after the treatment I have received. Details: I got a Nordic Track Treadmill from Sears and bought an Extended Service Warranty, which is serviced by UTS. This has been the most annoying and unhelpful company ever in getting service on a warranty. I called over a month ago, and had the hassle of not... More...

So, I sat on the phone for days, a nice CS girl said that they wouldn't service my eliptical - this, after their tech took my machine apart and told me to call them for service once my core bolts came in - I told her to get me her supervisor and not to jerk me around with his/her voice mail, etc... I abhor confrontations with ppl that I know have no stake in it, nor any ability to help out... She told me that it was out of her control, and to hold again (for the fourth time) then she came back and told me that they WOULD send True Fitness to come out and service it. What gives... ???... • UTS Customer service is more like customer abuse!

I wish to complain about the poor customer service of UTS. We own a NordicTrack treadmill and all I want to know is where to find an approved repair service for our machine. I do not believe it is under the service contract at this time, however, it would be appreciated if UTS representatives would be courteous and not leave me indefinitely on hold or cut me off while on the phone. I have called UTS 6 times this evening, have waited ON HOLD for about TWO hours, and have even left my number for them to call me--which someone did, but then put me on hold again and then cut off after so... It is absolutely impossible to reach UTS on the phone for extended warranty repair service on our Nordic Trac. During the past 7 days I have phoned at least 3 times a day sometimes for at least 40 minutes & been put on hold to listen to their music before giving up with no contact whatsoever with a human being to schedule an appointment for treadmill repair. I have been trying for days to call for service. Our 14-month old NordicTrack Audiostrider 990 has a broken left link arm. I was on the phone for a total of 3 hours yesterday trying to get through. When your operators finally answer and ask for a contract number, there is a pause, as if they can't hear and then a hang up. That happened 5 times yesterday. I feel I have a useless warranty and a useless eliptical machine. I have no choice but to write to the Better Business Bureau. Every single comment on this web site is negative for this company. I just tried for days to reach UTS to service my 14 month old Nordic Track Audio Strider 990 eliptical machine. I was on hold for a total of 3 hours yesterday. When someone answers and asks for your contract number, there is a pause then a hang up. There is apparently no other way to contact them except for this 800 number. Their web site is useless. What do you do with this useless warranty? Our eliptical has a broken left link arm - it split right in half and like the warranty, is also useless. This machine was very expensive. Don't deal with these guys. I have a nordic track treadmill purchased through Sears. They pushed the extended warranty and I bought. ($475 for 5 years) Now I want to use it and can't get anyone to answer the phone at Universal Technical Service, I'm holding as I type for over an hour. Couldn't get through last night either. Called Sears, they were useless and of no help. So Don't buy from SEARS, Don't get and extended warranty from Universal Technical Services, and Avoid Nordic track unless you want to throw the equipment out the minute something goes wrong.... WE HAD A NORDICTRACK TREADMILL THAT WAS UNDER WARRANTY WITH UTS. AFTER ENDLESS SERVICE CALLS AND FIXING, OVER 1 YEAR IT WAS REPLACED "FREE" BY UTS DUE TO UNAVAILABLE PARTS. IT COST ME TO HAVE THE NEW ONE PUT TOGETHER, IT COST ME TO TAKE AWAY THE OLD ONE. I BOUGHT A 5 YR WARRANTY FOR IT AND GUESS WHAT. IT WAS CONSTANTLY BROKEN FOR ALMOST A YEAR. EACH TIME THEY SENT ME A NEW PART IT TOOK BETWEEN 3-4 WEEKS FROM ORDERING THE NEW PART TO HAVING IT PUT IN BY THE SERVICEMAN. THAT WENT ONE FOR AT LEAST 1/2 A DOZEN TIMES (ON A BRAND NEW MACHINE) AND STILL THE PROBLEM WASN'T RESOLVED!!! FINALLY, THE COMPANY REPLACED THEIR REPLACEMENT WITH A NEW MACHINE. THEY TOLD ME I WOULD GET WHITE GLOVE DELIVERY, TAKE AWAY THE OLD MACHINE AND AFTER MUCH ARGUING WOULD GIVE ME A THREE YEAR WARRANTY, (BEING THAT I PURCHASED A FIVE YEAR WARRANTY ON A LEMON). WELL, MY WHITE GLOVE TREATMENT WAS DELIVERY TO MY BACK DOOR, I HAD TO PAY SOMEONE OVER $100 TO TAKE IT TO THE BASEMENT, HAD TO PAY TO REMOVE THE OLD ONE AND UTS SENT SOMEONE TO ASSEMBLE THE NEW ONE. 8 MONTHS LATER, THE DRIVE BELT BREAKS, I CALL FOR REPLACEMENT AND FIND I HAVE NO CONTRACT. A SUPERVISOR SAID I WAS GIVEN EITHER A WHITE GLOVE DELIVERY OR WARRANTY. I WAS NEVER GIVEN AN EITHER-OR SITUATION. NEVER, I WAS LIED TO OVER AND OVER. NOW I HAVE A MACHINE THAT HAS NO WARRANTY, AND THIS MACHINE NEEDS CONSTANT SERVICE. ALWAYS TAPE YOUR CONVERSATIONS. THEY LIE OVER AND OVER.

UTS is so RUDE! First, I wait (on hold) on the phone for 30 minutes, then, I get cut off. Next, I call and "leave my number" and wait another 20 minutes or so--finally, a call back, but I am put on hold while they "find a service agent" (or whatever they call it) to help with my query. I wait again and am cut off (by UTS), no doubt after too long a time on the line.
I call back THREE more times, and finally, I get someone who says, "I'll get someone to help you" BEFORE I even get the chance to say,"I don't want to wait for another whole HOUR!"--and then I wait some more--30 MORE minutes!
FINALLY, fed up, I disconnect (they aren't going to "help" me at all) and decide to call again--this time to see if I can do something differently to get a LIVE person to actually listen...The call goes through, but
THIS time a different voice answers (obviously a recording) and informs me the "office is CLOSEd..." Apparently, "business" hours are on Mountain time and end at 6 PM MY time...and did I even get a response after being on the phone nearly TWO hours??? NO!

LOL, I thought I was the only one having this problem until I found this site. Generally, UTS has been responsive with my problems. Fix my treadmill when broken but the phone issue is terrible. I've been on hold for less than 30 min. I've had a treadmill down for 3 wks now and they are to replace it but again that process is slow. I give them a B+ for service but definately an F- for phone answering!

I have a UTS warranty and it is hands down the best warranty that I have ever had. Yes, they are very slow to answer the phones but the wait is well worth it. They cover everything on the machine. I mean everything. All of the wear and tear parts and there is no questions asked when I call in and say that I have a problem with my machine. This is an incredible warranty. This company stands by them and I am very pleased. Thanks

I purchased a treadmill from Sears about 2 years ago. I run a lot and know that items with a lot of moving parts tend to need service from time to time. I purchased the extended warranty and good thing as my treadmill has been down almost as much as it has been up. I have had 4 seperate times in which the treadmill has needed repair and due to incompetence had technicians out to my house 6-7 times. With each new incident, it is always the same thing. Call, wait for 45 minutes before anyone answers, have some goofball diagnose the problem over the phone, send incorrect parts, get the technician to come out and verfiy the incorrect parts were sent, get the correct parts, reschedule the techinician, have the technician attempt the repair, wait a short period of time before the equipment fails again. I guess the learning experience here is you might save some money buying Sears equipment with a warranty, but if you really want to use the equipment and it is down more than it is up (quote from UTS rep today "average repair time is from 4-6 weeks), then you are not really saving money. Kind of like getting a good deal on a car (it just doesn't run).

I have been on hold for over 30 minutes today. Was on hold yesterday. I would never buy a product from Sears again nor will I ever buy a UTS contract. I plan to take this to Small Claims Court. Those abused by this company need to ban together and form some type of legal action against them being able to sell as one writer stated "expensive toilet paper".

I've had my nordic track for 8 yrs and have called UTS once before and they were able to help me fix the problem over the phone. This time I called and was on hold 20 min. and then called back and held on 30 mins. till someone picked up. Again we were able to fix the problem (couldn't get the incline down to 0) over the phone. The young lady was very nice and told me Mondays are always the worse day to call. I also let her know about the one tune that plays over & over till it's driving you crazy.

Dishonoral and RIP OFF: I purchased precor eliptical and treadmill machines from Leisure Fitness in Annapolis MD,in May of 2007 and i paid $275 each for 2 yrs extended warranty on both items. Ihad no idea that there is a thrid party involved in this transaction. In October 2008 Leisure Fitness went out of business and I needed services for my eqiuptments I called UTS and I was told that they have no record of my warranty. I faxed them copies of my recipt showing that the items were listed as UTS extendend warranty 2 yr, once they discovered that it was brought at Leisure fitness they then claimed that they did not get paid and that was why they have no record and since Leisure Fitness is out of business there is no why I can prove this. UTS is a not a company to do business with. Even with proof of purchase they still will not do the right thing.

RIP OFF!!! Starts at Sears for selling the warranty through this company. I will never buy another warranty on a product through Sears or anywhere for that matter if it has anything to do with UTS. They do not fix ANYTHING. I'm trying to figure out where the real scam comes in and how UTS, Sears and Nordic Track are related. I feel robbed. I would have been much better off buying a gym membership. Never will I buy another item from Sears, a warranty through UTS or another Nordic Track. If the horrible service is all related to UTS hopefully Sears and Nordic Track figure out how they are effecting their business.

I purchased UTS extended warranty offered by Sears when I purchased a Nordic Track Feb. 2007. I have attempted to contact UTS for 2 months by phone. After automated voice directs you to what button to push (warranty repair) the phone just rings. No one has ever picked up the phone nor has voicemail been an option. I contacted Sears and they geve me additional UTS phone numbers with the same outcome. No answer. I spent $500.00 on this warranty that I feel is the most EXPENSIVE toilet paper ever known to man! DO NOT PURCHASE warranties through UTS!
